Intermediate Rhythm Pack

If you have worked through the Beginner’s Rhythm Pack and hopefully through the complete Beginner’s corner, let’s begin with a big congratulation!
You have accomplished a lot and we hope that you are feeling more confident while practicing at home or playing with other jazz musicians. Maybe you’ve even already thought about starting your own band.
The content in the Intermediate Rhythm Pack will take you to the next level. We’ll provide licks, tricks and tracks to support you in discovering the Bebop language!

If you are new to the Rhythm Pack or our website, we welcome you to learn about how to approach Bebop style playing guitar, piano, bass and drums. However, our lessons are not intended to serve as a complete method to learn each of these instruments in depth.
We encourage everyone, including wind and brass players to take advantage of the lessons to understand the important roles of each instrument and the skills needed to perform. If you are playing a wind/brass instrument you’ll be most likely playing with a rhythm section, here’s an opportunity to help you understand what they’re doing.
The lessons will provide music examples and videos working parallel to the content provided for wind/brass players in the Beginner’s corner. We would also like to encourage every rhythm instrument player to follow these lessons as we will work more on soloing and improvisation than comping. We provide all music examples in treble and bass clef.
We are all together in this, onward!

We would like to acknowledge that the new beginner lessons are based in parts on Willie’s  Jazz Anyone…? classroom series, Book 2. The complete series with rhythms manuals, teacher editions and CDs are still available and may be ordered online from Alfred Publishing.com or at your local music store. Jazz Anyone…? has been around for over 40 years and has been responsible for starting thousands of beginner band students all over the world. The new online edition has been modified to meet the demands of the online beginning jazz student. Enjoy!
