    Hi Justin,
Can you possibly discuss some ideas on how you’d apply Wilie’s approach to minor 2-5-1 tunes (such as a Jobin tune)? I’m having mixed results just trying to flat the 5s, 9ths, and 13ths.
For a tune like Black Orpheus, the harmonic minor sounds works well. So what seems to sound ok is to take the 5-6-1-2 approach but make it b5-6-1-b9 for the ii-7b5 chord, make it 5-b13-1-b9 for the V7b9 chord, and make it 5-b13-1-9 for the i-7 chord. Is there a more straight-forward approach?
Then, in tunes like Angle Eyes (minor tune, but with a blues feel), nothing seems to work better than just playing a blues feel through the changes. In other words, I haven’t found a 5-6-1-2 approach that sounds particularly good.
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!! Don

Ok, I also see that this is covered more int he Diminished and Half-Dim Packs, so will see how that relates to how I’ve been approaching it. Thanks, Don
