Just found this site. Signed up for free..I’m sure I’ll be signing up for full membership soon. I saw a YouTube lesson of Willie’s discussing Diminished Vocabulary, also touching on the pentatonic pairs. I’m in.

I finally came up with locating pentatonic pairs with five shapes ( i mentioned Jimmy Bruno’s shapes before). So there are five places to play ii-v-i pairs and it’s possible to play through the whole circle within five (or four) frets. This approach seems to me very logical. Also i take one shape and practice moving it down in whole steps

It seems to me easier to play pentatonic pairs in moving “boxes” on three strings than in caged scale boxes.
For example, i start with D and E on 3rd , then G and A on 2nd and C and D on 1st.
then i move the whole box 2 frets lower to play on Cm-F7-Bbmaj7 and so on
to play on Gb i start on 4th string.
may be i’ll try to play also in five…[Read more]
